We want to support our brothers and sisters in Australia, and help with the rebuild of communities, wildlife and the environment that has been impacted by the bushfires.

Zoe & Morgan has chosen to support the wonderful organisation Firesticks - we are hoping to raise $10,000 NZD from both our NZ and UK businesses, and would love your help to reach this goal. 100% of the proceeds of each voucher being donated directly to Firesticks.

Firesticks Alliance Indigenous Corporation is an Indigenous led network and aims to re-invigorate the use of cultural burning by facilitating cultural learning pathways to fire and land management. It is an initiative for Indigenous and non-Indigenous people to look after Country, share their experiences and collectively explore ways to achieve their goals.

The term ‘cultural burning’ is used by Firesticks to describe a number of different burning practices developed by Aboriginal people, to enhance the health of the land and its people. This could be burning or prevention of burning of Country to improve or maintain good health in particular plants and animals, or patch burning, which creates different fire intervals across the land to be used for fuel and hazard reduction.

Fire from cultural burning may be used to gain better access to Country, to clean up important pathways, maintain cultural responsibilities and as part of culture heritage management. It is also a ceremony to welcome people to Country, it could be as simple as a campfire around which people gather to share, learn, and celebrate.
