How to best take care of your Zoë & Morgan jewellery.
We hope you are loving your new Zoë & Morgan jewellery.
Each piece is handmade with care and we know you’re going to want to keep it looking beautiful. Here are some tips to help you look after your jewellery.
- Store your jewellery in our Zoë & Morgan box, or in your own box. Always ensure to keep your jewellery separate from other pieces to prevent scratching.
- Avoid wearing your jewellery while showering, swimming or exercising. A build up of chlorine or soap residue can damage metal.
- Pop your jewellery on after applying moisturisers or spraying perfumes.
Remember jewellery will tarnish naturally over time when it is exposed to elements like oxygen and sulphur.
We also welcome you to bring your Zoë & Morgan jewellery into one of our stores for a complimentary clean.
Gold
plate
All of our gold plated jewellery is 925 sterling silver plated with 3 microns of 22 carat gold. In order to prolong the life of your jewellery, please avoid perfumes and cosmetics, showering and cleaning products.
Also avoid wearing gold plated items in bed; bedsheets rubbing against them can wear down the surface.
Gold plate will wear over time depending on how much it’s worn and the types of activities you do whilst wearing it. We can re-plate your Zoë & Morgan jewellery for you for a small cost.
Sterling
silver
At Zoe & Morgan we use 100% recycled 925 sterling silver.
Over time silver can tarnish; we recommend using a soft silver polishing cloth or a non-abrasive silver polish to keep it looking great.
Solid gold
& Platinum
The good news is investing in solid gold or platinum jewellery means that it is far less prone to wear and tear.
You can use a mild jewellery cleaner and a polishing cloth to bring out the shine in your solid gold. Regular cleaning will help keep it looking as good as new.
Gem

Gemstones require special care. Avoid impact against hard surfaces and contact with perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals.
To clean your gemstone jewellery, you can bring back their sparkle by using a soft clean toothbrush, lukewarm water and a small amount of eco-friendly dishwashing liquid to remove any dirt. Regular cleaning will help to retain their glamour and shine.
For gemstone rings we recommend getting the setting checked each year to ensure your stone is set securely.

Pearls require special care. Avoid impact against hard surfaces and contact with perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals.
Gently wipe pearls with a soft dry cloth to prevent any build-ups of natural oils or dirt, before putting them away. You can also clean with a damp soft cloth only if required.
Store your pearls away from objects or other jewellery that could scratch the surface.
Wrap the pearls in linen, soft cloth, or place in a soft pouch to store.
Wear your pearl jewellery! Pearls were originally born in the water so they benefit from absorbing the natural oils that your skin produces. Wearing them often keeps them from drying out and maintains their beautiful lustre.
Diamonds
While diamonds are the hardest gemstone in the world, they still require special care.
To clean, use an eco-friendly dishwashing liquid and warm water with a soft toothbrush to gently loosen any particles.
Rinse well in clean water, and follow with a polishing cloth to bring out the shine.
For diamond rings we recommend getting the setting checked each year to ensure your stone is set securely.
Going swimming?
Don’t take your jewellery with you. Chemicals in swimming pools and thermal hot pools will accelerate tarnishing and leave your jewels looking dull.

Storing your jewellery properly is important too. To avoid damage, store your jewellery separate from each other to minimise scratching and tangling. All of our Zoe & Morgan pieces come in their own beautiful packaging so you can keep them safe in this.
