Bare Beauty Studio

Meet Sandy, founder of Bare Beauty Studio. With a deep passion for skin health and years of hands-on experience, as a qualified skin therapist, she’s known for her thoughtful, tailored approach, always prioritising long-term skin wellness. Sandy’s calm, grounded energy shines through in everything she does, making each client feel seen, supported, and confident in their skin.

Your approach to skincare is rooted in care, intention, and a deep understanding of beauty. How did Bare Beauty Studio begin, and what values guided you in building this space?

Bare Beauty started from a desire to strip things back. After years in the industry, I realised people didn’t just need facials, they needed space. A space to pause, feel held and reconnect with themselves. At the same time, I wanted something results-driven and grounded in education. Everything I offer is based on how skin connects with lifestyle, stress and nutrition. No two skin journeys are the same, so every treatment is tailored. It all comes back to care over trends, intention over noise and a personalised approach rooted in knowledge and human connection.

Facials are such a personal and nurturing experience. What do you love most about helping people care for their skin, and how do you hope they feel after leaving your studio?

Seeing people soften. Giving someone time to breathe and be seen with no judgment and no rush is powerful. Skin reflects how we feel inside. That’s why I take time to educate each client, whether they’re navigating acne, sensitivity or wanting to age well. I want them to leave feeling lighter, more grounded and truly empowered.

At Zoë & Morgan, our pieces hold meaning and become part of someone's story. Is there a piece of jewellery you own that feels like a talisman, or has a special significance?

The Solina Hoop Earrings. I wear them almost every day. They make me feel put together and confident, especially when I’m seeing clients. They take me from day to night without needing to make any adjustments. So comfy I forget I’m even wearing them. A go-to.

Running a business that’s so connected to others’ wellbeing must require a lot of energy and presence. How do you take care of yourself as a founder, and what keeps you inspired creatively?

I’ve learned that rest isn’t a reward; it’s necessary. I honour slow mornings, nourishing rituals and spend time with my whānau. Being with them reminds me of what really matters. Calligraphy is my way to unwind. Just pen, paper and peace. It brings me back to myself. Learning keeps me inspired. Skin is intelligent and ever-changing. The more I understand, the more I fall in love with what I do.

Bare Beauty is such a calming, considered space. What kind of feeling or energy do you try to create for your clients when they visit, and what do you hope they take away from the experience?

Like they’ve stepped into a pocket of calm. Everything is designed to help them slow down, feel cared for and leave not just glowing but with clarity, confidence and a deeper connection to themselves.
